When warm waters start calling....

Now that we have all enjoyed some days at home with friends and family, unwrapped our gifts, shopped the after-Christmas sales, and come down from the holiday frenzy, thoughts may start wandering to a getaway.

This time of year, I can’t help but feel the lure of warm water and sand, the gentle lullaby of waves and the sound of birds. For those of you lucky enough to have a winter getaway planned, and those who wish that you had one, here are some images to get you in the mood......

The night before the night before…

I'm looking forward to relaxing and enjoying my time with family. I will be hosting my family and my in-laws for Christmas Eve.  I always enjoying experiencing the excitement of Christmas Eve with children - my niece and nephew will be full of anticipation. They work so hard at being good!
This is a good time to reflect on our good fortune - health, happiness and family.

 Merry Christmas

Welcome Winter

Today is the winter solstice. It's a day that typically fills me with bittersweet thoughts. I know that the worst of the cold weather is coming — I loathe January and February — but I know that each day will gradually grow longer and spring will not be too far away. I try to distract myself from thinking about the cold months ahead by imagining warm places and exotic outfits to wear on the beach or while sailing somewhere.

This is what I wish my January could be like; daydreaming could be a good strategy to chase away the cold. Any Slim Aarons photo usually does the trick.
